Looming large in the background is Eagle Tower and, as a complete contrast, the statue of King William IV in the foreground (click the links for previous posts with all the info you could ever need!) Not much more to say other than old and new make an interesting photo.

Bet he never forsaw something this big behind him. Love the daffidol. Hope they are still there next week.
This king seems a little lonely there. No followers and alone.
Good use of city backdrop in this image :)
He's a bit dwarfed by that backdrop.
quaint contrast
King Will (sorry, is this too disrespectfully American of me?) cut a dashing figure. It is an interesting combo.
Wish you a good break - enjoy.
I always wonder what the persons the statues represent would think of their modern surroundings. I'm envious of statues of people; I doubt I'll have one for people in the future to learn about me. But then, I'm not famous...
Read that Will had 10 children with his mistress and none with the Queen...
Love that one yellow flower there!
He looks quite non plussed about the modern imposing upon him. Great dare I say the dreaded photogarphy word juxtaposition.
