Dipping into the archives again today. I actually forgot about this one, I thought I'd already posted it. Its Vallenders Barbers in Suffolk Parade. Its not the best shot in the world, I just liked the way the barbers red and white pole stood out from the grey of the shop front and the grey of the guy in the advertising photo. I liked the composition. Hope you do too.

there is something odd here that I do like...
i thought the photo in the window might be your barber, the photo says 'professional barber' ;) i finally got my site name back, and hopefully everything will be working normally in the next few days =)
I do like it - very much. I like that you incorporated the photo of the handsome guy - the label on the poster makes one wonder who this professional barber is. You are right about the pole too.
Very striking red!
But since when have barbers poles been just plunked on the sidewalk like that? I like the old style rotating ones attached to the wall.
Yup, I like it, the colors, the composition, and the cute guy!
I've never seen a portable barber's pole before.
Yes I do like it. The composition really works. Like Saretta, I'd never heard of a portable barber's pole before. All helped along by a rather dishy guy...
Great minds think alike....I have a similar photo today!
I like it too (and the photo of the model is rather easy on the eye too!!).
Sorry about your hassles with my flickr images. I've had a few problems when I've been previewing posts I've just written, but found if I closed the window and then immediately tried again it was fine. Which is a pain, but for the blogs you're not seeing you could try closing them and going into them again, maybe it will work? (this is about as techy as I get, much to my husband's disappointment!)
Love the barber pole...lol...great pic.
Have a great weekend!

Do you know the history of the Barber's pole. I'll live that one with you to google. Interesting. A lot going on here with the reflection.
You have different barber poles than we do here. Now that Babooshka mentions it, I think I have heard the story on the poles, of course I've forgotten so will need to google...thank goodness for google, lol
I'm all about the guy too! Whew!
Actually I agree the red/white of the pole is nice against the gray. Hey, yours goes with Wayne's red barber shop chairs on his yesterday's post from Vancouver. Great minds I guess.
