Theme Day - Glass

Its the first of the month which means its Theme Day across the CDP community and the theme for March is glass. This theme didn't inspire me at all and if you read yesterdays post you'll know I didn't have a photo for today. All I could think of were windows or glasses! But fortune favours those that leave things to the last minute (or something like that!) and while I was getting a haircut yesterday I spotted this glass jar in front of the mirror - a winner on two fronts! I love the colour of the blue liquid barbicide (it sounds like something you are accused of if you've killed a hairdresser!)

To see what others have come up with for the theme click here.

Come back tomorrow to see the next installment of my Changing View series.

Interesting to note that a few months ago I bet this would not have come to mind. You really are seeing the world a different, creative way and it is showing in your images. With you on the Barbicide meaning and imbuing that stiff would surely do it. Funky colour.

I was going to say 'killing the barber' but you beat me to it. Fantastic 'inspired' photo.

Great eye to show the field of view (perspective and DOF is just fantastic tool for this). It is very cool image with this colour combination.

Oh how funny - and brilliant. Great for today and so different. I echo Babooshka's words. Love the colour too.

Good choice. I hope our haircut pleased you and you left the barber alone...

Barbicide has been a staple with barbers for nearly a century, since way back before there were stylists and barbers were barbers. As in barbershop quartet. Love the photo. Your comment is why theme day is so great. It forces us to think about our pictures!

LOVE THE BARBICIDE!

Very cool idea Marley! Funny, I wasn't going to participate either till I woke up this morning and was finally inspired!
Love yours!

The color seems to be a medicinal blue tone. Reminds me I need a haircut.

Hi, Marley! Thanks for stopping in Belgrade for a glass of "slivovica"...

I knew if I thought hard enough, I'd remember on whose blog I'd seen Barbicide. Here's the link for Virginia's (Birmingham) post last January 17th:

I get my haircut at the local neighborhood barber too but I don't trust those germicides.

I always run home to wash my hair immediately after a haircut.

That's enough barbicide for a small town.

(?)

Glass is a very interesting theme by the way.

Brilliant post, Marley! I'll raise a glass to this one and you should too. Your wicked sense of humor shines through and has brought out the best in the commenters as well.

Love your definition of Barbicide! In the portal, I thought it was a coffee press so I was wondering what kind of drink that lovely blue color was! Very serendipitous photo for theme day :)

Good one! Funny how fortune favours - I posted a glass photo before even realising it was Theme Day!

The barbicide jars and all the glass/mirrow reflections make a fantastic theme day shot! Well done!
