Little Italy

I've not been feeling very inspired of late and was looking through my archive to find something to post today. I found this photo, which I took in January. The reason I photographed this building was due to the columns at the top, I thought they looked interesting. As I've looked more closely at the shot I've realised the building is in fact a hotel (I had no clue it even existed!) I typed in their web address and found Strozzi Palace - a real hidden gem. This quote from their site says it all - "We're chic and boutique - with modern Italian flair. Built in 1894, our amazing Grade 2 listed 'Palazzo' façade is based on the beautiful Palazzo Strozzi – one of the most important examples of renaissance architecture in Florence." Visit Strozzi Palace here. Its posh, even for Cheltenham!

It does look posh! What a nice surprise for you to have discovered. I wonder if all the rooms have the leopard print! I was in Las Vegas and it is the mecca for posh hotels....pictures to come!

Chetenam is Posh. It does have the feel of a folly with that very flat roof. Not really ideal for our rainy weather. I would never have said this was a hotel Tell you what you can feature the red door to the left. I do like a bold red door.

I like this place, but there are so few windows for a hotel.

Great building! The top reminds me of the palaces in Venice.

You're right about the columns being very interesting, but that huge door isn't their front door, is it? Doesn't look easy to open without a doorman!

I can't believe i did not leave a comment yesterday! I've been really tired lately. So I looked at the picture & liked it and went to the link and looked all the pictures, and thought maybe I should reserve a room for the festival (just letting my mind wonder), then seeing a night photo with the reason-for-the-photo columns lit and thinking that you could photograph that at night in the future...and then in my mind I had left a comment.
Anyway, very engaging post.

What a find! Love the columns on top too.
My gosh, how long has it been since I've visited? I didn't realize I've missed a whole weeks worth of photos! The kids having snow days and me having to fight for computer time has thrown me off!
