Fancy Bank

I've shown you parts of the fancy HSBC building before (here and here) but here it is in all its glory. Standing at the corner of the Promenade and the High Street it is one of the town centres oldest and most ornate buildings. The higher up the building you look the more detail you see. I wonder why that is? Maybe its to do with presenting to Heaven. Who knows.

Don't forget its CDPB Theme Day tomorrow. The theme is Yellow and you don't have to sign up to join in, just copy the code into your post, so there are no excuses!

Ah, nice to see the whole building. It is very stately. I think they put the ornate stuff out of reach so it won't be pinched (that's stolen in British English - ;)
I like seeing the people on the street too and what they are wearing. Is that young woman wearing a long black coat?

very nice architectural details.

Nice bank. Fitting building for a bank, I think. I don't like banks that are glass and chrome.

That's told me then about theme day! It actually looks like the one in Douglas here. They are clones these banks.

Will they all have these beautiful buildings after they've paid back their debt. Or will they all become fast food outlets.

Beautiful architecture!
Thank you for the 'Yellow' theme reminder! :-)

Why is it that bank buildings are usually the fanciest ones in a town? I guess that's not always the case anymore. But there are some beautiful old banks. This one is lovely!
