Bluebell Wood

These beautiful bluebells are in the woods on Chosen Hill. The hill is in the village of Churchdown, situated between Cheltenham and Gloucester. At this time of year the whole of the woodland floor is a carpet of blue, and looks amazing. The scent is intoxicating. These photos really don't do the impressive scene justice, but I hope you get a sense of the natural beauty.

Must be a grand experience to walk through this purple haze. Lovely! We city fold don't get to experience this in person often enough.

Are these blue bells the same as our forget-me-nots? They look similar but perhaps larger.

Are these campanules or myosotis (forget-me-not)? Oooh, dictionnary, here I come!
In any case it is very pretty!!!

What a lovely place!

I first learned about bluebells when I read Enid Blyton's books when I was a kid. Haven't got the chance to see a real one yet.

How lovely!! I can just smell them now. You can really get a great view of them when you enlarge the photos. Such a pretty and spring-like scene!

Hi Marley. Thanks for the visit to Guelph. These bluebells are so gorgeous. We don't have these spectacular shows.

Our big day is planned for May 24 but there is some fly in the ointment to do with immigration, etc. and we may have to postpone it. Not sure yet. :(

I have a link on my blog with my email if you wish to use it. ;)

Those are just the most beautiful photos I've seen in a long time. Wild flowers have that untamed beauty that cannot be rivaled by cultivated ones.

Awesome capture.

i like the blues and greens in these, and they remind me of our bluebonnets... bluebonnets don't smell though... i'd love to walk thru and smell these!
