O Christmas Tree

You may remember I said about the lack of Christmas lights in Cheltenham, well the Council have at least got it right at the Municipal Offices. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it being the councillors work place! Anyway, it does look good. The Municipal Offices has had Christmas trees on its balcony at this time of year for as long as I can remember. It brings back childhood memories of going to see the lights being switched on and the times that we couldn't go my mum would take us in the car for a drive round town to see all the twinkling lights. What are your childhood Christmas memories?

Birmingham shopping, listening to the sally army, parties, Nan and Grandad's christmas eve for a gathering of the clans. Walsall lights too.I had forgotten those 'til now. Good to see a little light here afterall.

Came back to tell you I've answered your question in my blog. Again, the answer's too long to post here.

Lovely sight, Marley. This reminds me of the City & Court Building in Denver, Colorado. Imposing architecture with tasteful holiday lights.

As a child I remember driving along a street named Candy Cane Lane where each house for a couple of blocks decorated each year around the Candy Cane theme. That was in Spokane, WA, but we also have a street of that name here in Seattle ... we had a scooter ride through there a week ago, but alas, the lights were not up yet. Disappointing.

I do like this very much. I know you've sounded frustrated at the lack of Chelt Christmas lights, but sometimes when I look at the bling in George Square I wonder whether less is more sometimes :)

We did the driving around town to see the lights thing too.

Gorgeous photo, Marley. I really like how the lights from the trees cast a warm glow on everything. Very nice!
