Sky Watch Friday

Vapour trails at sunset.

A golden light was pouring through my front window the other evening, so I got up to have a look and was met by this stunning sky. I grabbed my camera, poked my arm right out of the window, pressed the button, and hoped for the best. Luckily it came out quite well. Notice that I wasn't so bothered that I went outside to take the picture! For another (better) view of this sky check out Mewli's owners blog.

To join in with Sky Watch Friday, and to view all the other skies around the world, head to the Sky Watch Friday Blog.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

This is NICE! I like the cream trails, the soft grey sky and the puffy straight lines heading off at different angle. Very arty!
Happy Sky Watch ;-)

They are usually called contrails here (short for condensation, I think), but there is an emerging subculture who like to call them chemtrails, and seem to feel that jet exhaust is more alarming than that which comes from ground operated vehicles.

This could have been a lines shot aswell. Amazing shot, especially as it was through a window. You honestly can't tell. Really abstract, arty and stunning. I'm very impressed again with your photography here.

Busy sky!

Sometimes, it's the candid shots that make the best photos.

I assume those vapors were created by an airplane passing by, right? Either that or an UFO just flew over your sky.

Great photo, and I like how you take them, sticking your arm out a window, that's my kinda shot :) Happy SkyWatch photo.

What beautiful light. When you see wonderful jetstreams like this it makes it that much harder to want to be 'green' about it and take the train.

great shot - is Manchester airport busy you ask - sure is which is why you are always likely to see one in my sky shots - they are still high enough here though not to be too noisy.

Mewli must have approved of your antic and being a fine judge of a good photo thought enough was enough and much more important to be scratched than have you dashing about the place.
