I like to think I know the name of most plants and flowers, but this one has got me stumped. The plant was about three feet tall, was growing by the side of the River Chelt and had pink flowers that looked a bit like an orchid. Anyone know what it is? Then let me know!
Wish I knew the name. It's beautiful though and it's wonderful that you found it growing wild. I agree that the shape makes one think of an orchid. Hope one of your readers solves the mystery!
It has to be an orchid with that petal formation. I'm not at all good with flower names. Beautiful close up, nicely faded background and the pink really pops.
I'm absolutely hopeless with plant names, but it reminds me of the flower I captiond "yellow tongue" in my Magical blooms post in my other blog.
If you're really good with flowers, may I please ask you to visit that post and see if you can identify some of them? I only knew two of the twelve, then Elaine managed to identify one. That still leaves nine without names. And these are all in my garden! I'm pathetic, I know.
Thanks for visiting the other blog, Marley. Don't worry your spicy little head about their names though. I just thought of inviting you in case you already knew some of them. I don't really mind not knowing their names — I just like flowers. :)

That's a beautiful flower. I just killed one a few months back. I guess I water too much.
I have no clue what it is......but it is pretty....
I don't know either, but think it looks like an orchid too. You can get wild orchids so it could well be one.
Whatever it is, it's a lovely photo.

It's just beautiful! I'm going with the Orchid guessers! Aren't the colors of nature simply amazing?!
I don't know the names of flowers, but my mother does & she says it's an orchid. Very pink & colorful!
