Which Way To The Sea?

Like most towns and cities in Britain, Cheltenham has a problem with Seagulls, not a huge problem though, not like neighbouring Gloucester. There the gulls dive bomb shoppers in the car parks and snatch food from hungry visitors! This Seagull was on the roof top car park at the Regent Arcade shopping centre. His mate had just flown off, looking for the sea!

hmm ... looks like a playmate come to visit Marley -:)

Seagulls are interesting and I think, intelligent birds. However, I can understand the aggressive nuisance issue all too well.

That would be strange to have diving seagulls everywhere! I only see them at the seashore.

How pretty! I like the depth of field in your photo. I've seen those gulls be pretty agressive with food at the beach! I guess they get hungry. That's a great post!

Maybe it's just me but when I hear seagulls, it immediately makes me think of vacation.

gulls and pigeons the two greatest hooligans of the skies.

Gulls and pigeons must have natural enemies? I don't know for sure but you might be able to have the city hire one of those chaps who carts around their enemies and loosens them on the flocks in the city. Once or twice a day usually does the trick.

Airports also use them to keep birds off the runways.

I like the depth of field in this one too.

The gull looks a bit moody!

Thanks for your visit to my "theme day" post, which I hadn't meant to publish but I was having problems with it initially, and it was a trial run.

I love the photos of seagulls; they always look so stately despite the fact that they are often referred to as "rats with wings."
