Cheltenham Nightspots - 7
The Dobells pub, at 24 Promenade, is the sort of place that I call a proper pub. It has wooden floors and furniture, lots of brass fittings, serves real ale and has good pub grub, like bangers & mash and roast beef & Yorkshire pud. The pub has been there as long as I can remember and always seems busy. It has a lively atmosphere, with a good mix of people. I highly recommend it for a pint and a bite to eat!

Looks a great place, a shame they haven't got a more colourful sign. I took some beauties in Shrewsbury.
I like their lantern...the place sounds like a classic.
Lovely!
This looks "typical British" to me. I miss these lovely signs.

Great shot of a UK pub. I find them too dark inside. Maybe I will get used to it. Is it snowing where you are?
Nice looking pub (love the fist shot). Do they have cold draft available in case heretics like me show up?
The weather looks gorgeous there Marley!
nice looking pub... the kind of place i could sit away an afternoon... and then stumble home =)
I am with Fenix...do they have cold drafts as I have not learned to drink warm beer yet....maybe I just need the right beer! Nice shot...I had no idea what constituted a proper pub. I know what to look for when (if ever) I make it across the pond!
