Stone Stairs

It's been a long time since I've posted a black and white photo, time to rectify that. These stone stair leads up to the entrance of Pizza Express, opposite the Town Hall. I haven't eaten there in quite a while but the food is good and the restaurant is really nice. I like the simple design of the railings. What do you think?

On so many levels "me likey." On a photographer's note the lines and form, the layers blah di blah, but purely as an aesthetic image it works splendidly. I really like these kind of railings that of another era. Instincts on the mono for this spot on. I bet that cast some great shadows.

i like the angle you took this from, and the b/w looks really cool on this!

I agree the two prior posters. The B&W is a good choice for this subject. Not only "old world" but these wonderful wrought iron bars and designs are very commonplace here in Mexico.

It was the railings that I first noticed. Love it!

Well snap, I posted stairs too today! Bit different to yours. I love the sweep of these and in particular the wrought iron railings in the foreground. I love the simple design. Less so, the curly ones on the right. Lovely shot and perfect in B and W.

This is a very nice perspective and I also like the railings.

I'm glad you chose B&W--it emphasizes the railings, and there are three different kinds just on this one stairway!

Perfection in black and white. The iron work in black compliments the white walls. Quite elegant!
