My plans for taking some autumn photographs yesterday were scuppered. I headed into town to do a few chores and then I was going to the park to capture the colourful scene, but the heavens opened and I came home instead. I'm a fair weather photographer! In desperation for a photo for today's post I snapped the leaves piled up by my front step. In the end it worked out OK. I still want to get some autumn photos, fingers crossed for a dry weekend.

Your front step is beautiful with autumn color!
It worked out more than OK - it's just great to see all those colors. I'd picked up a few fallen leaves today at lunch & brought them into the office to brighten up my desk.
PS - on being a tourist in NYC - sounds like you did the "top" the way we did - Top of the Rock during the day, and Empire State at night - it was just wonderful seeing the illuminated streets, buildings & twinkling bridge lights
i really like the colors in this! nice capture anyway.. i'm pretty much a fair weather photographer too, no need to get wet!
Scuppered indeed. These are GORGEOUS> Just say, "Thank you very much" as we all praise your efforts my friend.
Get yourself an umbrella!
seriously though, a great shot of the piles of leaves that are everywhere right now.
Nah! This is creative photography. You determination to snap those autumn leaves has floruished. Eye popping colours right on your doorstep, who needs more.
Beautiful colors and texture. I may live in the land of perfect weather during the fall and winter months, but long-time residents crave a sighting of fall leaves such as this.
I am not going to give in to the temptation to say that you need to take up a rake rather than a camera one of these days. ;P
Wish our leaves in the yard were this colorful!
so cut all red with a little of green (hope)
Gorgeous! I can hear these leaves crunching under my feet!
Goodness. How very pretty.
These are fabulous colors!!!!!
