Last week I found myself face to face with the cause of many a childhood nightmare, a real life Dalek! Scary stuff! These alien invaders are the most famous of all of Doctor Who's villainous foes. But this one took some time out from attempting world domination to promote a TV merchandise shop that is soon to open in town, which was nice of him!
If you've got some time, and want to know all there is to know about Daleks, head here.

I remember watching Doctor Who on PBS here late at night. Dont remember much of it. Neat fact on your link a 2008 survey indicated that 9 out of 10 British children were able to identify a Dalek correctly.
I did catch a bit of Dr. Who like Jim, in the '80s on our Public Broadcasting Station. I think Lucas pinched the design for R2D2 from this fellow...and made him a lovable bot. Very fun post.
Would it be a Forbidden Planet by any chance? We have quite a big one here. Although I've never bought anything from there yet.
Glad you are safe despite Dalek staring you down. I vaguely remember, PBS aired Dr. Who but the reception back then was terrible.
So how big is he really? :)
I've never seen Doctor Who, so I don't know what this is. hehehehe
I, too, missed Dr. Who but can't wait for bots to take over the house cleaning work ;-)
i watched dr who way back when too, but don't recall much about it... this has to be the r2d2 prototype though for sure!
I want him. Actually we had Dr Who in Ramsey. Well not really a cardboard cut out with the Tardis. Just not the smae as a dalek is it. Careful with that sink plnger and egg whisk dear.
