Lanterns

Aren't these lanterns lovely? They represent one of the things I like about the run up to Christmas, little stalls and Christmas gift shops that spring up out of nowhere. These mosaic lanterns were on a stall that has appeared under the escalator in the Regent Arcade. The stall has all sorts of candles, lamps and glassware gifts. The lanterns are an absolute bargain, the long ones and the large round ones are just £10 each and the small round ones (like the multi-coloured one at the top of the photo) are £5 each or three for £12! I know it sounds like I work for their advertising department, but at these prices they're a steal! The problem was I couldn't think of anyone to buy one for. I'll have to go back and get one for myself...or maybe three for £12!

These lanterns are beautiful! I would have been very tempted to buy several! I adore mosaic glassware! If you do buy some of these, share a photo of the ones you choose!

So much color! Can you get one of the red so we can see it glow?

Very pretty. I love the vibrance the Christmas markets give to an otherwise dull and grey time. Have to put on a few more woolies and brave the elements to take a few photos of the markets around central London.

Yes, Marley, I think you should indulge yourself. Nothing better than a soft glow from a candle, encased in a delightful, colourful holder.

Pretty! You can send me one as a gift. ;D

Hee. You sound like me. I see something pretty in a shop or a bazaar and the first thing I think of is 'Who can I give this too?' Drives my husband batty.

These are great! Definately go buy a few for yourself! I want one...it would be difficult to chose which one!
I've always wanted to try mosaics. In fact, I've been collecting pieces of broken pottery I've been finding along the creek to do a mosaic something with them!

That close-up really works - all those wonderful shapes and colors kept me entertained. Which one are you going to buy?

Oh, they are beautiful! I definitely would have bought one for myself. I wonder how they can make them so economically. The colors are so cheerful.
