Helping Hand

Who needs a van when you've got a group of willing friends? These guys were busy moving their possessions up Bennington Street, just off of the Lower High Street, yesterday. The person in charge of the large wicker chair was carrying it on their head, like an oversized 70's seat-come-hat!

Well, creative thinking can come up with some interesting solutions to problems. It's a great looking chair.

I wonder which is heavier, the dresser carried by 2 of the young men or the chair carried by the young woman. I think I'd pick to carry the dresser bottom. And it's good to know that people still "get by with a little help from my friends..."

I love spontaneous photos like this! I once bought a chair like that for $5.00 at a garage sale. My kids sold it later; maybe it has traveled to the UK.

Oh my gosh, I haven't seen one of those wicker chairs in ages! I used to have one in my teenage bedroom. I thought I had the coolest room, a mural of clouds on one wall, rock posters of hot rockstars, rainbows and unicorns and of course on of those wicker chairs in the corner, and a waterbed,lol... (do they even make waterbeds anymore???)

Creative moving. I guess that will cost the person relocating a few beers.

It must be warm there now. They aren't even wearing coats! Hopefully all the furniture made it to its new destination in one piece. Love the photo!

I'm wandering if the chair is kitsh, naff, classic or retro chic now. I do remeber them though. Must be students.
