You don't often see this sort of thing between buildings around here, a corridor in the air. And a grand walkway at that. This links two of the buildings that make up the Ladies College. The college site is made up of lots of different buildings that are all linked together, making a courtyard garden in the middle. A few years ago it was remodeled and reopened by the Queen, although its not open to the public.
Sorry for all the short posts of late, all on the same theme, normal service will resume tomorrow.

wonder what view one gets standing in the corridor?!
Wonderful texture and light
I'm enjoying catching up on your posts today, Marley. Congratulations on passing 400!
I love all the pics of the Ladies College. It looks like a venerable institution. I hope your work weekend went well!
It would be nice to see buildings like that around here - the history just wouldn't be there, though, I guess!
And we thought skyways were modern inventions?! This one definitely has character and is far more interesting than those I've seen and trod in downtown St. Paul, MN! Sure helps in below zero weather, tho! Great shot!
i love these elevated walkways (?) and this is a wonderful shot! color, mood, all of it.
i like this little bridge, it make me think of Venice ;)
These short posts with image are faithful too the city daily photo message anyway so no problems. You do think of these as being modern, just shows how wrong we are. Interesting find.
I'm very happy wandering around this amazing building with you.
So handy, these walkways. And there must indeed be a good view.
I take it the walkway is newer than the buildings it connects? I like how it's made to look like it has always been there.
Yay, you're done with your heavy work! So come out and play, Marley! I just tagged you in my blog :D
How beautiful. Cheltenham's Bridge of Sighs, as per Venice. Such a lovely bridge. Fascinating series on the C Ladies College.
It does look lovely.
All the best people have a series of the same place ready for those all-work-no-play times. Next time I have a deadline/crisis you'll be regaled with the Transport Museum :D
I can't believe I haven't seen the previous 5 posts... definitely my loss! (I've been spending time on Facebook, reconnecting with highschool friends - what a trip that is!) I love the building details and the bridge rivals any of such kind in beauty. It would be perfect for RuneE's Bridges in Between (2nd day of the month).
