Two Things Challenge - Young / Old

This weeks Two Things Challenge is Young / Old and this photo of the view down Montpellier Grove fits perfectly. On the left side of the street is the recently built Century Court (young) and on the right side of the street are the Regency town houses that Cheltenham is famous for (old). I think that covers it.

Which do you prefer?

Two Things Challenge - Apple / Eye

A bit of a filler photo for the challenge this week but my cat is the Apple of my Eye! Altogether now - Ahhhh!

Two Things Challenge - Early / Late

Basically they were early and I was late (as always!) My friends A & S, who I was meeting in town the other day, got there before me and as I rushed to get there I saw them chatting on this bench. I was late anyway so stopping for a photo wasn't going to make much difference!

Two Things Challenge - Yellow / Brick

The Two Things Challenge is back up and running. Here is my interpretation of the challenge Yellow / Brick.

That's the 'Yellow' part covered. Where is the 'Brick' part I here you cry. Look at the photo below and at what the Harley is parked on.

Job done.

Two Things Challenge - Open / Road

Not the worlds most exciting photo but it fits the challenge this week! This is the M5 motorway that runs through Gloucestershire, linking the Midlands with the South West. Cheltenham is accessed by two junctions, Junction 10 and this one, Junction 11. There we are, that's it - not the most exciting post in the world either!

Two Things Challenge - Free / Range

Thought I'd have a go at the Two Things Challenge this week. At the moment there is an advert on TV here for Anchor Butter with the strap line 'the free range butter company.' Surely all butter is free range as the milk used comes from cows that graze on pasture, otherwise there would be no milk and therefore no butter! Anyway...here are some free range sheep, grazing on top of Leckhampton Hill. Do you count sheep to get to sleep?

Two Things Challenge - Foot / Step

I wasn't really prepared for this weeks challenge so I had to have a root around in the archives and this is the best I could manage - rabbit prints in the snow! Almost on theme but not quite! Oh well, must try harder next week.

Two Things Challenge - Window / View

Its Sunday and its time for Two Things Challenge. As with my other posts over the past few days this post too is appearing by blogger magic. It continues my series of photos I took at Nature In Art last weekend.

The building had loads of windows, like the one above, and if I could have taken photos inside the building the shot below shows you the view I would have seen!

How does the artist go about carving a piece like this?!

Two Things Challenge - Stripes / Stars

I thought I'd make the effort to join in with the Two Things Challenge this week, but what to post for Stripes/Stars?! How about the American flag? A shop window display? No. A collection of my jazzy socks! Perfect!

I think this could be the most random photo I've posted to date. I'm always pushing the boundaries! To see what others have come up with, or to join in, head over to the Two Things Challenge site.

Two Things Challenge - Corner / Door

I was hoping to find a door on a corner but it didn't happen! Instead I've got a photo that will make you wonder what is round the corner (no, I don't know!) and below a door that will make you wonder how long did it take to carve that (my guess - a long time!)

Two Things Challenge - Hot / Cold

Its Sunday, in case you didn't know(!), and its time for Two Things Challenge. My photos today are of the same place in Cheltenham - the Long Gardens in front of the Municipal Offices. The first one shows some red hot tulips which were in full flower last spring. And the second one shows a wider view of the gardens covered in cold snow, which has been the case all week.

Two Things Challenge - Paper / Plastic

Sunday is now Two Things Challenge day for me. It's nice to have to think about what to photograph (if you know what I mean!) and how best to come up with something original for the subject. Basically, I'm enjoying the challenge!

As you can see today's two photos aren't that attractive but they show an important part of life. These recycling skips are at my local supermarket. Most of the big stores have these in their car parks, even though Cheltenham Borough Council do fortnightly kerbside collections of recyclable waste. As well as skips for paper and plastic they also have skips for tin foil, cans, shoes, clothes, books, cardboard and drink cartons. At the moment cardboard and plastic aren't collected so we take ours to the skips. Well, you've got to do your bit!

These photos were taken on my camera phone.

Two Things Challenge - Partial / Whole

After many weeks of unrelenting pressure from D.C Confidential I have finally joined in with the Two Things Challenge (I tell you, the woman is not to be messed with!) By joining in with this weekly challenge I put my name alongside those of some fantastic photographers and I hope my offerings live up to the photos that have gone before. Anyway, on to the photos. Pretty self explanatory - a partial moon in the day and a whole moon at night.
