Step It Up

Today's post was inspired by Virginia's post of stairs yesterday. I commented to her how I find photographs of steps, especially in black and white, to be a bit arty looking. What do you think?

I'm planning to get into Cheltenham today to get some photos taken as I've been lacking in choice lately. Its not that I haven't been inspired, it's just I couldn't be bothered! Laziness - my middle name! Fingers crossed for a host of fantastic photos everyday next week. Watch this space!

Yes arty, but only in b&w. I like how you have chosen a slight angle not straight on. Laziness, is a photographer's middle name, that's why we aren't painters.

B's right. I am a lazy artist as well. I love your steps. Thank you for giving me the "inspiration" though I hardly qualify for that. Your are the artist here. Bravo!

Sometimes, the everyday and very simple make the artsiest photos. I will look forward to your posts next week.

I agree steps generally make in interesting photograph. They hint to the world beyond. I posted steps on my blog this week too.

Yes arty & great in B&W. Try an uneven number for better balance. (or so I'm told).
In answer to your question about my origins...From down under.. NZ.

Artsy is right; I like this type of photo. I too am inspired, but there's no step sher in the 'burbs. I am uninspired in my hometown. Mainly strip malls and residential homes...boring.
