Where I live in Australia, people nostalgic for the "old world" planted such corridors. Perhaps because it is traditional and beautiful.

Looks very peaceful. And cold! Was it?

At the end of this corrridor is a buried stargate. It's wild and wonderful and must be ahven for wildlife.

oh, I'm reading "Doomsday Book" by Connie Willis, and the story is about someone who has time travelled back to 1320 near Oxford - this looks like the woods and fields she is describing in the book.

i think these tree corridors are so beutiful and i'm sure they are created with a purpose, be it for love or possibly a ritual belief i am not sure but thay are to awe inspiring to be a fluke. I'm going to a place where i know one of these exists today, it's in a common park, well technically the old hunting ground of past kings (most commonly king henry the eighth) so alot of people may know about it. However, it's wot happens at a cirtain time of winter on certain cold clear days that is truely amazing. i can't remember the exact day i saw it years ago but i'l find it again and publish it for you guys. When the sun sets on a crisp witer's day, the type with no clouds that look tropical but would freeze the very blood still in your veins should you decide to decloth, it sets forming a semi circle with the ground with each of it's opposite sides just touching the trunks of the last two trees in the corridor it's only there for 5-10 mins perfectly, as the suns continues to set, but you would wait a lifetime to see it. It's so special i doubt that the land owners even know that this takes place! hope you guys have a truely wonderous new year, wish me luck!
