Autumn Clean Up

The Borough Council horticulturalists are hard at work, clearing and tidying the parks and gardens ready for the winter months. This was the scene in Imperial Gardens, behind the Town Hall. The gardeners were just out of the photo, hard at it. I'm not sure if that truck is big enough for all the fallen leaves though, as the area is surrounded by trees. One strong gust of wind and the place will be covered again!

I always loved raking leaves in the fall when I lived out of the city. It's really good exercise. Maybe I wouldn't feel that way if I lived someplace with a yard and lots of trees!

Going on here too. The onset of winter upon us.

I had to do a bit of this myself over the weekend. Sadly it will be a repeat performance again next weekend. So many leaves ...

Neat.

I was happy to see the leaves are being collected in paper bags.

Sounds like Manila after one of our typhoons!

A neat photo of just everyday things in your city. I like that you got the name of your city on the door of the truck.

Raking leaves isn't too bad. A bit of fun hauling them to the copmposting center.

Mowing lawn, raking leaves, and shoveling snow: three activities meant to remind us we're only a pile away from receding back into Mother Nature.

Nice photo!

That's why we all need a gardener. :-)

I've always seen photos or videos of kids playing in a pile of leaves. I never done that before.

they use the leaves for making mulch so it is much more than a brief prettyfying exercise.

I was thinking that a good wind would take those leave right back out on the grass!
