Deerhurst Flower Festival - Day Three

Today is the last day of my photos of the flower festival. I had so many to choose from it was a job to decide what to post. The first photo is part of a display called 'God Save The Queen', all about our national anthem. All the red, white and blue flowers fitted in well with the patriotic feeling about at the moment due to Team GB's success in the Olympics.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect at a flower show being held in a church. I was imagining lots of chrysanthemums and carnations, and those sort of old fashioned flowers. But I was really surprised. There were loads of unusual blooms and tropical flowers, like the orchids above. They added to some really interesting displays.

And the last photo is the one I promised you yesterday that I'd post. It shows the bells made of leaves, with the bell ringing ropes included, and is part of the display entitled Resounding Bells Of Time. I hope you all enjoyed seeing these floral creations.

Happy Birthday Phoebe x

Your festival photos are fabulous! For some reason, they leave me reminscient of the Rose Bowl Parade floats, which use live flowers, fruit, seeds, and other flora to create gorgeous sculptures.

I'm not really a floral photographer, but the way you have taken and presented these has captured my imagination, along with the narrative. Those bell leaves are most creative.

Yes I need enjoy them. I am inspired to find some pretties to snap, or a snapdraggon that is pretty.

I'm going to be weird again — it's not the main flowers that caught my fancy, but the "fillers" or whatever it is florist call them. I love the tiny white flowers in the first photo and the green stringy stuff in the second. ;)

Thank you for sharing these wonderful floral creations with us, Marley! I loved seeing the festival through your eyes.

And happy birthday to Phoebe!

Lovely flower pics. I can imagine the lighting inside was not perfect, but your photos are.

Marley, you're really good at photographing these arrangements - maybe they should hire you to do their publicity.

Those orchids are gorgeous. I managed to kill the only one I've ever had though - I think they're a bit fussy, I'm better with plants that thrive on neglect!

Happy Birthday Phoebe!

[PS Not trench foot, just a couple of welly-related blisters!]
