Windy Fish

Next to the spinning daisy from yesterday was this wind sock fish, and they were both in the outdoor eating area at Pizza Express. They certainly brightened the place up.

Foodies Heaven

As I mentioned yesterday we visited the Tewkesbury Food Festival on Saturday. The event is in its 5th year and took place in the shadow of the towns famous Abbey. If you like food (and who doesn't?!) then this was the place to be. There were over 70 stalls in the main Food Hall selling any food you could imagine, with the majority being locally produced.

There were plenty of samples to taste to help to get you to part with your cash and lots to see and do - celebrity chefs, craft tent, music, champagne bar, pig roast, a theatre where demonstrations were taking place, to name but a few.

We bought a few things like the chocolate covered ginger below, which is now just a memory. Delicious!

Whale Of A Time

If you've been visiting last week then you'll know I'm not here and post are appearing magical. Over the past few days I've been sharing some photos I took at Nature In Art last Sunday.

This whales tail was just amazing sticking out of the ground. I think it must have been life sized as it was huge!

Yellow Fin

This is a photo from my trip to the London Aquarium last October. I know its supposed to be a Cheltenham Daily photo blog, and I have (for once) plenty of Cheltenham photos in reserve, but everything around here is so grey and cold and wintry that I just needed an injection of colour. And this photo delivers just that.

I hope you all have a great weekend.

Fishy Business

Short of Cheltenham photos, so instead a trip to the Aquarium at Stratford-Upon-Avon. Not really sure what sort of fish this is (Cichlid? Discus?) but it is a good excuse to show a photo that I'm quite pleased with! This photo is also to remind me that I need to get a new light for my own fish tank, as the little fishes are swimming around in the dark at the moment. I wish my tank looked as good as this one. I'm sure Phoebe may have something to say about me cleaning it out!

Also, I need to get some more Cheltenham photos taken today. Come back tomorrow to see if I manage to do any of the above tasks!

Marley In Kefalonia - Day Two

Today a few photos from the Kefalonian capital, Argostoli. It is about 8km North of Svoronata, the village where Phoebe and I stayed for the week. We hired a car from Greekstones (I know, great name for a car hire company in Greece!) Check out their logo at the end of today's post. Its cool! It was a bit scary driving on the opposite side of the road to the UK, and it didn't help that the steering wheel was on the other side of the car! Anyway, we made it in one piece. Here is the proof.

One of the towns many churches, decorated with flags and bunting in preperation for one of the Islands Saints days.

Locals queueing up to buy fresh fish from one of the fishing boats in the Port.

View across the bay to the mountains with added sparkle, not that it really needed it!

Thanks for all the 'welcome back' greetings yesterday, I'm glad you all liked the photos. More tomorrow.

Gone Fishing

These little cherubs taking a ride on the backs of fish caught my eye as I walked through Sandford Park. They can be found on Unwins Fountain. The fountain is quite impressive and is the first thing you come across as you enter the park through the east entrance, off of College Road. I'm planning to take another photo of the whole of the fountain in summer, when it is surrounded by colourful flowers and looks at its best. In past posts I've written about the park, so won't go over old ground, but still can't seem to find out much about this old fountain. Anymore information would be appreciated.
