Theme Day - Doorways

Its the first day of the month (where is the year going?!) and here in the CDPB community its Theme Day. This months theme is 'Doorways' and Cheltenham has a host of ornate doorways to choose from. I went for this blue door, surrounded by a porch of wrought iron. Quite typical of Cheltenham and it Georgian architecture.

Can you see the padlocks securing the door? The building is for sale and the agents don't want anyone untoward paying a visit!

An elegant doorway indeed!

Is that one single leaf in the corner, to show the season?

There is something regal about a blue door ... suggests a lovely home on the other side.

Very handsome and ornate! Does a Duke or Baron live there?

I really like the blue color and the iron of the gate. So, what's a place like that go for in Cheltenham?

Gorgeous blue double doorway. My eye goes to the hardware . . . that is one topnotch doorknob. The iron work is interesting as well.

Love the blue against the black. Regal is a good word and yes, where has the year gone! A lovely image, Marley.

the blue really pops out as very royal looking and the ironwork gate is a wonderful complement to the door.

This blue is so British, at least that's what it means to me. And those curlicues...

So, it looks like the wrought iron is mean to be locked from the outside, and not to keep you safe within?

Lovely, Marley.

Super color & nice touch with the curlycue-y fence. I knew you'd have a terrific door post!
