I won't mention the 'C' word (Christmas!) yet but every shop in town is bedecked and ready for the present-buying masses. I suppose its the one time of the year that they can attempt to buck the recessional trend. Anyway. I like neon signs (and Cheltenham is hardly the neon sign capital of the world) so this one flashing away, in a shop window on the Prom, caught my eye. The flashing part caused quite a problem (lots of photos of an unlit sign!) but perseverance paid off and I got the timing right. Twice! Which is very unlike me and my camera.
As well as not mentioning the 'C' word, I won't mention that I've started my 'C' shopping. Talk about organised!

Still a few more to be switched on here. Slowly making my way around each street
Don't you go there with the C word and i mean it.

great capture!
if you start shopping now wont you miss out on great festival discount sales?!
Love the neon on black. No, not the C word. The S word, (snow) usually accompanies the C word. I'll start shopping on the 23rd. ;)
I was a Target (department store) yesterday and there were "winter themed" decorations everywhere already from giant snow flakes on the windows to red-and-white colored ornaments hanging from the ceiling.
cool sign, but i've yet to start 'C' shopping - where does the time go?
You did say the C word, but no matter! I don't like it when Christmas hits the stores right after Halloween in the US.
I have a thing for neon signs...in NYC this past summer, I took LOTS of photos of them!
Your flashing sign woes made me laugh, it reminded me of my attempts to take pictures of fireworks, where I end up with millions of photos of black sky!
You did so well. Do you find capturing the true color of a neon sign difficult - esp. the reds come out orange? This is really true blue.
Enjoy reading your post. Great article, thank you very much! Really nice and impressive blog i found today... Thx for sharing this
