Chairs And Tables

Today's post is in honour of Virginia at Birmingham, Alabama Daily Photo and her fantastic photos in her rapidly growing Table/Chair series. Having often been inspired by her style of photography I thought I'd go a step further today and go for an outright copy! (Hope you don't mind V!)

Over the past few years nearly all of Cheltenham's restaurants and bars have added outdoor seating areas - some a few chairs, others a whole dining room. As the weather here has been summer-like already the al fresco eating areas have emerged early, but the day I got out, camera in hand, the heavens opened and diners were forced back indoors. But what to do with all those chairs? Tip them up and hope for the best!

Before I read the text I thought of V. 'Tis a fine tribute. How you have the two tone red and beige running throughout this image is remarkable and that hint of reflected wet pavement does nod to Paris. Of course you could have gone for classic mono, but a wise choice to plump for the colour on this one. Me likey likey very muchly.

I'm afraid tipping them up just wouldn't do around here with the wind we've been having. This past year, the wind has really picked up - The weather is really changing!

Thank you for remembering & asking about my dad's business, I appreciate that! But, dad just told me the other day that since he's had to put much of his own money into the business that if they don't take in enough to pay him back by November that he's closing the doors. Dad said he's really serious about me needing to go look for another job, now, but I just don't want to - I want this economy to turn around & let us all keep our jobs.
He's ready to retire, but after having a business for so long (since 1979), he had no idea it would come to this. I feel so bad for him & mom - horrible!

I'm sorry for such negativity - I hate that its come to this.

Very French looking chairs and tables, enhanced by the Cafe Rouge sign! I'll have to snap some Belgrade chair photos!
