Blue Scooter

No, this isn't the latest parking initiative from Cheltenham Borough Council, its a shop window display (you know I have an obsession!) This powder blue Lambretta is always on display in this ladies clothes shop. I'm sure our very own Chuck at 'One A Day - Mostly Seattle' will enjoy this one and perhaps he can tell me the difference between a scooter and a moped!

For my Two Things Challenge entry this week see last week. I got confused!

Marley they are very different. Love the vlue of this scooter, but must say I haven't seen very many blue scooters. Not very Italian ( blue) is it.

I love the baby blue color . . . I'm surprised there isn't anything hanging off the handlebars . . . scarves or necklaces perhaps? that monopoly game is interesting. Thanks for letting me window shop.su

As soon as I saw this, I thought of Chuck. I would so like to have a scooter, but we live on the 7th floor with no garage...but I really would like one...

Wonderful way to travel. I've been threatening to buy one for the past severa years, but maybe this year I'll actually do it!!

That is the most adorable shade of powder blue! Moped or scooter, my husband will never agree. And I'm actually still dreaming of a huge Harley! Oh well.

I can understand the cute scooter in a ladies clothes shop display, but Monopoly?

We Americans are mostly ignorant regarding these 60s bikes, but I hear the Lambretta is quite the classic machine.

Lovely, Marley!

The difference is really quite simple ... a moped has pedals ... the rider pedals like a bicycle to start the motor. Also much smaller displacement engine.

No pedals? Then it ain't no damn moped -:)

Scooters can have engines up to 500 cc though most are in the 50 - 150cc range. The thing that defines a scooter is the step-thru frame and the upright position of the rider when you're sitting on scooter seat on top of the engine ... and of course all the mechanical bits are nicely under cover ... unlike the more barbaric motorcycle -:)
