Little Birdie

I'm back! Thanks to blogger for working its magic while I was away and thanks to everyone who has visited and commented too.

For a while now I've been trying to photograph a pair of Blue Tits (yes, we all know the jokes!) that have been feeding in my garden, but to no avail. The little buggers are too quick for me. I'll have to persevere...anyway, back to the photo. Instead I bring you a little House Sparrow. Notice that he is sat still in the spring sunshine, perfect for my photographic abilities! Anyone got any top tips on photographing birds?

You don't need tips - That's a sensational photo of the little sparrow. He looks more that an ordinary House sparrow. Look at that bib and the brown on the wings and on the sides of the pretty little head - I'm adding this one to my collection of favorite CDP shots...I'm sure Abe has some tips - but they may include lying in wait from dawn to dusk. I think shooting as many as possible with the hope of getting one good one is the method I use. I got a good one of a hawk that way last summer.

Cute little fluffy sparrow. The sparrow is the symbol of Belgrade. Type in 'sparrow' in my search box, and you'll see some!

Welcome back. Cute sparrow. Yes go after the blue tit. I have never seen one. Maybe Abe (http://mybirdsblog.blogspot.com/)
can give you tips on photographing birds.
Although don't know what you are worried about your sparrow picture is great.

Pretty sparrow. Yep, I have a tip, you need to be quicker. ;) Sorry, I couldn't resist. I have spent time on our deck (with refreshments) enjoying a weekend afternoon. the birds become familiar with me and tend to loose their shyness after much time. I know of people who set up a tent as a blind and wait inside taking a photo through the tent window, (screen mesh removed). Some even set this blind on their deck or porch.

Oh Marley, this is a great shot, what a cutie! I don't know if we have sparrows here or not but we had gazillions in Ca :)

He is chubby. My tip. The slower ones are the fattest. Tips now your'e asking. Bird food and water to get them to your garden. If you are out and about stay still and a lot will come to you. Have to think about this. Terrific image, you nailed this.

Top tip of mine, is don't point your camera to close to their faces, otherwise they hit you with their handbags!

Absolutely awesome shot. The details are amazing and the contrast between the black and white background are simply perfect.
