School Girl

Just a quick one today. On the side of one of the buildings that makes up Cheltenham College (known locally as the Boys College) I spotted this elegant looking lady. In one hand she is holding a plate with what looks like grapes on it and in the other she is holding a mask. I'm not sure what she might represent (ideas anybody?) but she looks very grand. If you want to know more about the college check out my previous post here.

Thanks to everyone for their kind comments about my macro photo yesterday. If you'd like to see more of my macro photography head over to my other blog - Macro World.

Yes, she IS elegant! I've decorated my kitchen Italian style and I have some statues of these women holding stuff like that, but I couldn't tell you anything about them other than they're Roman statues.

i think the grapes represent alcohol, and that she's a drinker - and the mask indicates that she doesn't care what her partner looks like - she'll put a mask on him if he's too bad looking =)

school girl my foot. This gal has been around the block a few times, and she's still a beauty!

One of those prim and proper schoolgirls on the loose! They don't make uniforms like this one anymore!

So not just your run of the mill scholl then.

She must have just come from a toga party at the dorm. Or she's a hall monitor and has confiscated the evidence of the party. It would be interesting to know her story.

She's probably teasing those boys. She may be classical, but they may not all know that.

imagine changing the background into that of the garden and fruits, and it reminds me of the starting scene of the desperate housewives. :-)

If you find out what they are and what they symbolize, you come back and tell us, okay? :)
