Sparks Will Fly

I'm not sure what this drainpipe had done wrong, but this chap was certainly teaching it a lesson it would never forget! He was creating a lot of noise with his angle grinder and the sparks were flying everywhere. I had to dodge them as I walked by. Luckily I wasn't wearing my 80's shell suit or I would have gone up in a ball of flames! For more on shell suits, and a guaranteed laugh, go here. Have a good look around the site, it is so funny!

I'm not adverse to a bit of DIY, as long as my extensive tool kit (two screwdrivers and a hammer) are up to the job!

Gary' s version of DIY is write the cheque. Love the shell suit link. Horrible chav attire. B&w with the coloured flying sparks is brilliant. See already look how creative you've been. Creating a marvellous image from the mundane is called photography. Well done.

Well, see, there is. That's where you went wrong with the DIY tool kit. To be done proper, you need more tools.

A good start with the 2 screwdrivers, but for every job, you need the right hammer.

Little jobs require a little hammer. Medium size jobs require a medium sized hammer...and so on to the large job, large hammer.

Then, you need one last tool, a BAH. (Big Ass Hammer). More of a sledgehammer that takes both arms to lift. If the BAH can't fix it, nothing will.

by the way, I just realized this is black and white, yet the sparks are in color. Cool! A great idea, I may have to borrow your idea in the future, thanks, cool photo!

Marley, this is just great! Love the colored sparks. And now I know what a shell suit is. Would you really encase yourself in polyester? I think not.
And my dad, who was career Navy, could tell you the military motto for solving any problem: "get a bigger hammer!"

Like the way you highlighted the sparks through the black and white composition.

Of course I had to follow the link — I had no idea what a shell suit was. Now that I do, no thank you! ;)

Between me and my husband, I'm the one dreaming of a tool shed — complete with power tools! Drool…

I just had a good laugh over the shell suit website, especially the lunge section! Thanks for the link. Love the colorful sparks in this shot!

That website is hilarious - pets in shellsuits particularly made me laugh (I'm sure the dog in the first photo is thinking "I'm going to kill you for making me wear this, just as soon as I can think of a torturous enough method").

This is a good photo - I like what you've done with the sparks.

I had something vaguely clever to say. But I just explored the website you recommended. I can't think: I am still in shock.

Cool effect on the B&W, with colored sparks.

HA! We call those track suits. They were quite popular back in the 80s.
