Busy Blushing

After yesterday's black and white photo I thought I'd go the opposite way today! These bright salmon coloured Busy Lizzies (impatiens) are in one of the flower beds in front of the Municipal Offices on the Prom. I'm surprised to see them flowering so profusely seeing as there has been hardly any sunshine this summer. I think I've mentioned the lack of sun before. What do you mean at least twice a week?! Well its supposed to be August! Where is the sun?!

Beautiful colors! Here in the southern U.S. our impatiens wouldn't live in the direct sun. They need shade. Maybe that's why these are doing well with cloudy days.

Our impatients last until the first real frost....however, my dog has decided they are a great flower to lay on to get out of the sun and therefore they are not flowering much at all!!!!

Well, I think impatiens appreciate low lit environments. They don't like direct sunshine.
