I've been waiting for ages to get a photo of this bubbly Beetle. I keep seeing it driving around town advertising a valeting service and on Monday it was parked in the Prom, so I finally got my photo. Its not the best shot, as the bubbles aren't showing up that well, but it is brilliant for highlighting a recent report in the news.
Back at the end of July The British International Motor Show carried out research into car washing and they discovered that British kids are generating a summer car wash industry worth £50 million! FIFTY MILLION POUNDS! This profit is created by the 64% of parents that pay out £5 a time for their little ones to wash their motors. The following stats are taken from an article at www.easier.com "Three quarters (75%) of the skinflint parents who pay their children £1 or less say it’s because their kids only clean the outside of the car with soap and water. In contrast, over a third of kids (37%) who wash, but also give the interior a thorough clean, make between £5 and £7, and 100% of kids who are paid between £15 and £25 thoroughly wash, wax, buff, vacuum and polish inside and out."
So if your on your school holidays, and you want some extra cash, you know what to do. Get washing!

Thanks for the reminder to get the mobile unit washed. I'm thinking barter system . . . if the college boy wants a ride to his dorm with all his stuff ... he needs to clean the car inside and out . . . seems reasonable to me.
Fun advertising. I sort of wish I had a little car like this. But car wash? I wash my 13 year old Jeep once a year now...whether it needs a wash or not. ;-)
Nevermind kids I think I'm in the wrong business.Really cute car.
wow....I might need to think of a career change...cute bug....
Kids really are enterprising aren't they? I was at the WOMAD festival the other weekend, and there was a crowd of kids picking up the empty beer 'glasses' (that were some sort of cardboard) to return to the Workers' Beer Tent to pick up the 10p deposits on them! I bet they made a fortune!
love that car!
Wow, I guess car washing is a big business. What a cute shot, I've always loved those beetles!
The price of car-washing seems to have gone up since I last owned one; I'm sure I only paid about £1.50 at a professional car-wash.
I always washed inside and out as a kid, but no waxing and buffing - that's real work!
Car wash in the US usually means, bikini clad girls washing your cars for money. :-)
That car's to die for! Sigh!
Oh, a wrapped car! These are always fun and it's a nice way to drive a new car without making a payment (the advertiser usually makes your payment for you in exchange for using your car as a rolling advert.)
I had no idea there was so much money to be made washing cars. I'm with Ramsey: I'm in the wrong business!
