Green Door

Hidden amongst the undergrowth, on the edge of Montpellier Gardens, are a row of mysterious doors. They are the rear gates to the town houses that back on to the park. All are helping to hold up the Victorian red brick wall and keep the privacy of the residents. Some are covered in ivy and unruly shrubs and desperate for a lick of paint, while others are newly painted like this one. I suppose it must be nice to have a secret door at the end of your garden that opens into Montpellier Gardens - an extension of your outdoor space.

Good paint job! This could be the book jacket picture for the children's classic "Secret Garden".

No you have put that dreadful song in my head. I will think of Alice in Wonderland .

My email is taking the p**s today. I'll get those card details sorted.

I have lots of Belgrade doors; must post a couple. I am old enough to remember a pop song called, I believe, "What's Behind the Green Door?"

A secret garden how fabulous. Is it at the end of your garden?

reminds me of that song - "There's an old piano and they play it hot behind the green door/ Don't know what they're doing but they laugh a lot behind the green door/ Wish they'd let me in so I could find out what's behind the green door."
I'm really liking these color-saturated images, Marley.

It's a wonderful and eye-appealing photo because of its many colours and textures. I'm especially attracted to all the textures.

It'd be great to have your own personal door into the park! My uncle used to live in a house with a gate into the local woods at the bottom of his garden, which I used to think was just fantastic when I was a kid. Never found the Faraway Tree in there though :-D

Did Shakin' Stevens get inspired by THIS Green Door? "Green door, what's the secret you're keepin'?"

Love this colour. My sleeping blanket is this colour. Zzzzz!
