Monkeying Around

Just a quickie today. While stood in the queue waiting to see the Banksy exhibition in Bristol I had time ( a lot of time!) to look at the surrounding buildings. There was a row of Gothic looking buildings, some houses, some now offices, and they all had interesting animal cravings above the windows. My favourite one was this odd monkey one. Its all a bit sinister looking and reminds me of something but I can't quite remember what! Any thoughts?

Cookie Monster

All the treat seeking shoppers are testament to the success of the newly opened Millie's Cookies. The shop opened last week at the main entrance of the Regent Arcade Shopping Centre and has been an instant hit. Millie's Cookies have over a hundred branches, the first one opening just over 20 years ago at Selfridges in Oxford Street, London. Millie's bake a tasty selection of different cookies including double chocolate, raspberry and white choc, and orange chocolate. They also offer muffins, hot drinks, ice cream and gift boxes. I didn't have time to queue to buy a cookie or two. I'm going to go back tomorrow to sample Millie's Cookies! Now, what flavour....?

How Much Is That Kitty In The Window

Continuing yesterdays theme of banking, I spotted this chap in the window of the HSBC bank, at the junction of the Promenade and the High Street. He is there to promote the banks latest advertising campaign of "greener banking". The T.V adverts show the banks teaming with animals and birds, with employees fighting their way through dense undergrowth while sweating due to tropical conditions. All I found were queues for the ATM's and only two tills open!
