Let There Be Light

And what lights they are! Blimey, look at them. Talk about over the top. And I bet they are a bugger to keep clean, all that dusting! You won't be surprised to hear this isn't someones house but the display of chandeliers in one of the many antique shops in 'The Suffolks'. The area of town has lots of little shops, some arty, some stylish, some filled to the rafters with delightful gems - a bit like this one.

So, would you fancy a grand chandelier hanging in your house? Maybe you've got one. Are they a bugger to clean?

Fancy, fancy! I love antique stores! We have a crystal chandelier in our dining room - not so bad to dust when we think of it ...

Whoa! I love these. My grandmother had a chandelier with lots of little bangles. Every season we took them all off and washed them...and rehung them. I though it was fun back then.

A bit too traditional for my taste but I do enjoy seeing them in the right setting. So many very fancy ones.
PS - RE your avatar - where is the gray fur? hiding behind the lens?

It reminds me of my grandparents house....
No, I guess we will never have anything like it...
It will be too much and too different to what we have.

But I guess those who have space and place for a lamp like this, probably enjoy dusting and looking after it.

Your photo is very nice! Well seen and well done.

Very fancy although they've never been my taste. Having said that though marley, and answering your question, we actually have one! Not one we bought ourselves though. It was inherited from the previous occupants. It actually rather suits our place - it's in the front room of an old Georgian house, so very high ceiling and the other original features that help show it off. It's a relatively small chandelier though, and is a modern copy rather than an antique unfortunately.

A little rich for me, but I'm sure glad these can exist in the right environment. Lovely, Marley!

You made some respectable points there. I seemed on the web for the difficulty and found most people will go along with with your website.
