Feed The Birds...

This is a familiar sight to many Cheltonians - the pigeon lady. Every day she appears on her bike and feeds the pigeons. She puts down bread and seed in several different places and all the birds know her, and are there waiting for their lunch. I took the top photo but have cropped it (see below) but couldn't decided which one to post so you get the wide shot, the cropped shot and the close up shot. Which do you prefer?

And yes, that is a pigeon she is holding!

When I saw the words, Feed The Birds, suddenly I remember the song Feed The Birds in Mary Poppins!

I like the biggest photo because you can see the bikes, the other pigeons, the pedestrians of whom she is oblivious and her socks! Great snap!

Since I really like close-ups, I enjoy the middle photo, but I also agree with Leif about the whole picture. Like the B&W choice, too. I'm sure she is a sweet, kind-hearted woman; however, pigeons are just rats with wings. I really, really dislike them!

I am fascinated by the style of the pram in the background!

Well let me see. I like the close crop cause that's my thing but the wide shot gives us the reference of the pigeons. As a side comment....why feed pigeons, they find all the food they need. Sorry, I'm a grouch about pigeons!

I think I like the 1st shot best cuz it shows the birds at her feet, ya know, the whole scene! Reminds me of the bird lady in Mary Poppins.

I like the wide shot because it tells the story the best for me. The close up shot revealed things that I didn't see in the wide shot though like the bird on her right . . . never saw him in the wide shot. This works great in black and white . . . timeless.

Another vote for the full shot; then the close-up.
