Oriel Lodge

Just look at all that detail. Spikes, turrets, arches, gargoyles and other things with architectural names that I don't know! This is Oriel Lodge on Oriel Road, just off of Bath Road. This amazing looking building sits between two rather modern, unattractive cubes and the Lodge just puts them to shame. I can't tell you much about the place other than it houses lots of different office based companies including accountants, web developers and recruitment agencies. It must be quite old as I found a reference on the net to some bloke called William Nicolay dying there on May 3rd 1842. I'm just a fountain of knowledge today!

This building appears to be in great shape! You are overflowing with information, Marley!

Where is the gargoyle? I keep looking for the darn gargoyle...it was just GENERALLY speaking. :)
The structure is really a beauty & it's just great that it is used for some high tech offices. I've enjoyed your long stream of facts.

Just gorgeous and so clean and pristine. Like the angle with the branches. Nice.

This building looks a bit like an old church doesn't it?

1842? Wow, I wonder where I was. :-)

The top looks like a decorated cake, it's so ornate. Now you'll have to sneak inside and show us what it looks like there too! (But I guess the offices on the inside aren't as fancy as that decorated outside.)

Clean and attractive building. And not a boxed cube style!

It reminds me of that funny palace thingy (whose name completely escapes me right now - it's the old age again!) in Brighton.

Brighton Pavilion. That's the one. That's got made turret and random details all over the place too.

Offices? What a waste (well, not for the tenants or the owner, but definitely for tourists). It looks perfect for a little inn or hotel.
