Wet Weekend

This photo sums it up. Its been wet, wet, wet. This group were being given a guided tour of the town and to be out in this weather must they must have been really keen. As the tour guide was getting animated about the Prom the group took shelter under a tree. It seems to have rained all week long. I just hope Autumn is drier than the summer.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Is that sarcasm I hear? ;)

If your summers are like that, I dread to think what the rest of your year is like.

Try to have a good weekend despite the weather, Marley. Now I'm off to work — on a Saturday! =(

Sounds like England's had a miserable summer. We've had a surprisingly pleasant one, although I think we're about to start paying for it this month. Tomorrow, we're suppose to be hit by a strong tropical storm (TS Hanna) and Hurricane Ike revving up to a bad one for Florida and the East Coast in about a week. I'll be extra sure to think of you tomorrow while we're being deluged!

Are you sure that's not a Glasgow picture?! Actually no, our brollies are mankier than those as they keep getting blown inside out! So-called summer, whinge whinge. And where's this Indian Summer they've been promising in September (which let's face it we deserve after this shocker of a non-event summer)? Bah!

DC, joking about British weather apart, hope you stay safe from your Serious Weather.

That fringe of leaves across the top of your photo really frames the scene, a claustrophobic huddling under shelter to stay dry. The tour guide is impervious to rain?
Oh, the pressure's on for those manual settings - I think I need to get one of those digital photography for dummies books.

We thought it would rain this morning and though it tried a little it never got going.

mid-afternoon the sun came out and it was lovely - I nearly investigated a footpath but saw it was too wet and muddy to venture down (got picture for later though) so just wandered back home.

Since then though we've had a heavy downpour

Rupert -- much better than jamface.

If it makes you feel better, it is pouring like crazy here. It's been non stop from 3pm till now 8:30pm, still going strong. And the programme is the same for tomorrow. That is pretty common in the beginning of September. It's the remnants of those hurricanes/tropical storms - we get the very last bit on the East Coast.

Good thing I visited England last September & spent a wonderful day on the 22nd in London & thought from the weather I was in California - but definitely not from the sights. Actually, the whirlwind business trip we had went from Southend to Portsmouth to Isle of White (dragged my co-workers to Osborne House & everyone loved it). So much for reminiscing. I do hope your September clears up.
BTW well done on the Sister City theme - that was a very good trick up your sleeve.

I think we may have to do a series on umbrellas given the weather for the coming week. Great photo really sums up the rain.

Hopefully you'll miss out on the floods this time round. Gail keeps putting the washing out & 10 minutes later we rush out to bring it in.
