Wood

I really like the age rings (is that what they are called?) and the grain of the wood in this photo. I think the black and white helps enhances the textures. This is a close up of a bench, made from wooden blocks, along the Honeybourne bike route. I guess if cyclists get tired they 'wood' be able to have a rest!

I just think of time passing when I see this. Interesting.

Fascinating that a simple thing like a bench can hold so much history.... like the weather of summers past. Nice photo.

Lovely textures. Now I counted 32 rings so this tree was at least that old. However as we don't se all the rings then it is clearly much older.

Mo, I think there are more than 50 rings, do not you think?
Piece of photo you have ever done, Marley. You're right, black and white is better accentuate the contrasts of different rings and there are cracks in the wood.

A timeless photo....Did you count the rings? Looks pretty old! The black and white works wonderful with it!
I've got alot of big old trees here in the yard and I love them. I like to imagine what they've seen and heard over time!

Lovely image there. Actually the first thing I thought of was spiders - probably because from this angle the rings make it look like a spider's web. I'm glad the spider's out of shot though! ;)

I would not have known this was a bench. Nicley taken, really caught those textures.

Nicely done, perfect in black and white. I "wood" like to know how old this tree was. ;)

Wow, that's an awesome shot! I love the textures and rings in the wood. We used to try to count the rings if we saw a tree chopped down. This must have been an old one.

Very cool photo, Marley! I love the imperfection of the age rings' circumference. It makes it far more interesting this way.
