Sky Watch Friday

Its the end of another week and its time to look skywards. I think today I'll let you the viewer do the talking. I would like to know what this photo makes you think about or feel.

To join in with Sky Watch, and to check out the other sky watchers offerings, head over to the Sky Watch Friday Blog.

The winner of yesterdays Name The Cat Competition is D.C Confidential, with the name Rupert. The reason? When I was a little boy we had a ginger tom called, yes you've guessed it, Rupert. Check out D.C's brilliant Washington DC blog here.

this sky reminds me of my time with my family back home. I was staring at it and suddenly I felt home!

your sky makes me feel the comfort of the end of day, and all that means in terms of work done and family gathered...

I get a sense of the last coals of a beachside fire. Nice photo.
Cheers

The enlarged verison is awesome. A Monet sky Impression: Sunrise (Impression: soleil levant; 1873). It does make me think of Impressionist painting. 'm glad you kept those trees in, really adds balance and weight to the shot. Makes it complete.

I'll do auto and manual next week.
It seems to be a popular question.

Do you and dc have a telepatic link? Rupert. No, not even close me.

I seconded your motion at Ramsey DP. Still haven't messed with manual, maybe need some inspiration with the auto/manual visual lesson.
This photo gives me a sense of peace, day is done, all is well.

Very fine image, Marley!

Re your question at San Francisco Bay Daily Photo, yes, there is water in there with that Turneresque mix of fog and sun.

I Agree with babooshka! By including the trees, you created a balanced effect that showed the true beauty of the sky! Sunset skies here in the Philippines also bear those beautiful colors since the start of September. It really relieves me as I go home from the University! Love the post! Hope you'd like my skywatch too!

Mabuhay and God BLess! Steven^^

No words. Just appreciate and enjoy the beauty and (hopefully) the stillness, silence and peace.

The ending os summer as autumn approaches.

It makes me think of winter. I don't know why, but maybe because it reminds me of winter skies where I grew up. I love it.

Is it "day is done, gone the sun", or "oh, what a beautiful morning"?

The end of a beautiful summer day and perhaps the season.

Reminds me of those skies you see in disaster or alien invasion films. Think Dorothy saw such a sky when she was whisked off to Oz.
