I normally show you the nicer side of Cheltenham but, like all towns and cities, we have the usual problems - crime, vandalism, littering, anti-social behaviour. Following Knoxville Girl's lead the other day, I headed into a part of town I never walk through. It's not a particularly unpleasant part of town, in fact redevelopment of the area has just finished. The area used to be St James' train station and then a car park, it is now luxury apartments and a Waitrose supermarket. It's also where the River Chelt flows through. The riverside area (well, the stream side area!) was revamped with a walkway, seating, artwork and a waterfall. And here it is in all its glory, along with a shopping trolley for an added urban feel!

Ok my little protege that is too spooky seeing those shots of ours on the portal. Love the trolley, that is real life. See what I mean about the sport mode. You had the right idea though and it's still a powerful shot. Well done for having the balls to try it and more balls for the trolley.
nice shot of the water! i like this...
Cool photo of the cascading water! its just a shame about the trolley. But its good shot, anyway =)
super capture!
I like this curtain of water cascading down. The shopping cart adds that urabn edginess. The river seems to try to wash the cart away.
Protegee,
I love your critique by Prof. B.!!!! LOL Well you two did look like twins on the portal. That is an unusual urban disaster you captured. Now we have two of you!
Great shot.
A sad sign of the times very nicely captured.
Nice gritty contrast, love the motion of the water anchored by the poor deceased trolley. Not a Disneyland waterfall, all the better.
But it could also be an art installation by Damien Hirst or his ilk. Heh.
Frankly, I thought it was a piece of art!
Interesting photo Marley! Here in the US we call them "carts" or in more rural areas "buggies". I grew up calling them carts but my kids call them buggies, lol.
I do like this photo!
What an interesting shot. When I opened it I wasn't sure what was going on there. Hopefully no one fell in with the cart. I love how you call them trolleys in England! That sounds much classier than carts.
I have a shopping cart in the river photo - but it's not 1/2 as pretty as this one.
Is the shopping cart supposed to be part of the artwork? ;)
Beautiful shot though! Love the cascade (looked like glass to me at first glance) and the foam.
It really is a shame that people won't take pride in the city they live in and NOT DO STUPID IDIOTIC things like this. If they wouldn't do things like this, it would make for a much nicer place to look at everyday.
Love the waterfall shot!
:-0 what happened here?... love the photo...
Poor little trolley, lost in the river, far away from its little friends and forced to shower!
