Continued apologies for the lack of comments from me this week. I'll be playing a serious game of catchup at the weekend! I'm feeling much better, almost 100%. And Stevie Wonder was fantastic. He sang and performed for over two hours, and he's still got it.

oohhh. I think the color works better, brings out more detail. And contrast. Nice!
Tough choice! I like them both.
How was that concert?
Now this is interesting. The b&w has more depth of field. Entices a longer walk to the door and feels more layered. On the other hand the yellow door in the colour is so captivating it compels you to look at it. I am a boring photographer. We always say b&w, but only by a whisker. I bet most people say the colour one, and that's also a lesson to me. Afterall it's the public that buy and they know what they like.
I would take more shots of this area. There's a lot going on. I think you have found a little treasure trove. Glad to see the wonder of stevie lifted you to a higher ground. never mind the comments, just show me the pics.
I love to Stevie Wonder....he is amazing...glad you are feeling better!
You now have Photoshop, right? Play with the "black" quadtone (sorry, can't remember which menu it's found in). It's a CMYK black and so much richer than just grayscale. That's what I did to b&w photos when we were printing in full color. Looks fantastic. :)
Glad you had a great time at the concert and that you're feeling much better!
It's a very interesting photo in both versions. I like them both! The yellow door is an eye-catcher. Hope you are feeling better!!
Hmmm, I'm not sure which version I like better. I like them both alot! Glad you had a great time at the concert :)
I think it looks a lot better in black and white.
"Louis" votes for the b&w as being the more interesting of the two - despite the charm of the yellow door.
As B said, b&w calls out that depth.
But now that I've seen the yellow door, I'm enchanted by the unusual color.
Glad you're recovering & enjoyed the concert.
THey're both good Marley, but who can resist that yellow door?
Marley, can I like both? No, I'm not afraid of commitment (married 40 years proves that LOL). Overall, I think I prefer the color version ... except I like the way the drain and grating are downplayed in the bw.
Either way, it's a very nice composition. Listen to Phoebe :)
No need to catch up - get better.
It is nice to see both versions. I think I like the color one better. That yellow door is such a happy burst of color and it actually bring your attention to the little plant in the foreground with variegated foliage. I think those two elements bring depth to the composition. Phoebe has a good eye.
