Blog Day
The Tenin Technique

How could I not come back for this momentous occasion in CDPB history? And what is a party without punch? So, here I am!

Hello everyone. How have you been? Good. Me? I've been OK. Busy. Not picked up my camera since New Years Eve, until last week. It felt very strange actually but the break from snapping pictures has done me good. I'm still not ready to come back to Cheltenham Daily Photo yet. One day maybe. But I am starting to take photos again. And reminding myself why I liked photography in the first place. Anyway. Today isn't about me.

Today's special Blog Day is to celebrate the start of this wonderful community, 5 short years ago, by our great leader Eric Tenin, with the first daily city photo blog - Paris Daily Photo. The challenge for this unique theme day is to take a photo in the style of the 'Friendly Parisian', either on the ground or at a jaunty angle. This is my tribute to Eric - Cheltenham Town Hall as seen from the pavement.

Check out who else has come to the anniversary party by clicking here.

Marley!!! I am sooo glad to see you post again, even if it's just for Eric's special day (for now). You read my mind — I was just thinking last night that I was going to bug you on the 31st: isn't 3 months a long enough break? ;)

I'm also glad you're finding enjoyment in photography again. Our hobbies and entertainments should never be a chore.

Miss you so much, but we'll wait.

Lovely photo of a gorgeous building. I like that big globe of a lamp too.

What a great tribute for our Eric.

Yippeee, you're baaaackkk! Glad you came to liven up the party. That is a wonderful pavement shot, and you got so much into it. It does that building justice to be captured this way. Hope this little outing has primed the pump for you to get shooting regularly again.

Oh, Marley! I am sooooo happy to see you post again - even once in a while is great!
Terrific take on Tenin-technique - you've inspired me after I almost gave up trying to find a fitting snap. Glad your 'break' is bringing back the enjoyment of photography.

Marley! I didn't know you took a break too! We both stopped posting on New Years lol...ohhh the rumors! Great shot and I miss your little visits! Amazing isn't it that Eric hasn't missed a post in 5 years, it's hard work! Take care and let me know when you return!

MARLEY! So nice to see you back. You've been missed in these parts.

I went through a dry spell with my photography last summer and almost gave it up. I've recently acquired new equipment and have started a new blog for my life in France. I'm trying not to stress about taking great photos or posting exactly every day, which seems to help a bit.

Hope the time off has been good for you and that we see you around in these parts now and again. By the way--are you still shooting macros. I just bought a macro lens for my Nikon and would love to share tips.

Best,

Janet

I haven't officially left blogging but one does need a break. I am still blogging occasionally but it has been such a hectic year. It is nice to see you again. Hope all is well with you and yours.

I've been travelling for a couple of months so just caught up with your return. Glad you are enjoying taking photos again. Maybe we will see you return to blogging?

Just found the party remnants. So glad you stopped in for a couple in Eric's honor! Glad to read that you are doing well.

This is uncanny finding your post today because I was thinking of you & your awesome macros as I was trying to capture a tulip encased in raindrops. I need to use a tripod next time but the resulting image will be posted tomorrow if you want to sneak a peak. Take care Marley & I'll check back once in a while.

How funny, Tash and Marley. I'm still subscribed to this post and I saw Tash's message. Take a lot of pictures, Tash! I live this vicariously through you!

Tash, there's an Oxford Daily Photo, too.
