Bargains Galore!

Reduced, discount, bargains, half price, clearance - it all means the same. SALE! The winter sales used to start in January but more recently they've started on Boxing Day. This year the stores were slashing prices long before Christmas. All the shops were desperate to get every penny they could before the festivities and they did all they could to get the shoppers through the door. The best I saw was 70% off, who knows what they came up with for the post Christmas sale - paying you to take it away?! I guess it's a sign of the times, every penny counts. This week more High Street names have announced that they have gone into liquidation. Unfortunately, I think that it'll be common place to see more closures in the next year.

The answer to yesterday's mind play photo - It was a reflection and I posted the photo upside down. Well done to everyone that spotted it.

This is an arty shot in it's self. Woolies and now Adams closing. We will seriously have no shops left here.

I hope the stores can hang in there and make it through these tough times. It's sad to see so many going out of business. I love the sales this year though. I got a dress for $6.88 yesterday!

I'll be there in a sec!

We do our annual clothes shopping right after Christmas because of all the sales — no need to worry about seasonal clothes here, thank goodness. Now we're off to get some lighting fixtures and upholstery fabric! :D

I took advantage of a few sales myself the day after Christmas!

Also, I'm glad you added your current time - I was thinking you were 6 hrs ahead, but now I know!!! Thanks!

Great collage. It seems that every shop has a sale on now. I haven't really found anything worth buying yet.

I'm waiting to see what happens to the stock in Zavvi. whether it will be sold off at a knockdown price, or sent back somewhere.

It is so scary seeing how many businesses are going under, even big names. It seems every day there's another one in the news.

Very arty shot there!
