I just liked the different elements in this scene - the grey/blue sky, the flag, the roof tops, the green splash of colour from the tree and the little pigeon (can you spot him?)
Flags are difficult to photograph, aren't they? I took about five different shots of this scene and this was the best flag one. I really wanted a photo with a fully flying flag. Better luck next time.

I know how it is trying to get a flag to open up for a picture. This is a really nice one and I sure did spot the pigeon. :-)
ReplyDeleteNicely composed.
ReplyDeleteI distinctly remember waiting for the royal flag to unfurl at Windsor Castle. It got comical after 1/2 hour. I like the different building materials here and the pastel sky. Enjoy Skywatch Friday!
ReplyDeleteNice capture of the flag. I like the overall effect of the photo, too. And yes, I see the pigeon. :)
ReplyDeleteNice composition.
ReplyDeleteThat tree looks very lush under the grey sky.
If the wind's steady I guess it'll be easy, but not when it's blowing all over the place. I almost missed the pigeon!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad it's not just me, any good flag photos I've taken have definitely been a case of more luck than judgement!
ReplyDeleteI have yet to get a flag shot that I like. Nicely done.
ReplyDeletenice shot! i like the composition in this one as well!
ReplyDeleteI know don't they always collapse just as you hit the shutter.
ReplyDeleteI see Mr Pigeon there! He's waiting for the full flying flag, too! hehehe
ReplyDeleteIt's great to see you back commenting on my blog & I'm so glad I got the problem fixed! I would never have guessed those weather widgets was the problem, I thought it was the music playlists! Who'da thunk it? hehehe
For some reason it looks to me like a ship with THE jack passing by a building.
ReplyDeleteI see the pigeon! I agree flags are difficult to photo. I was trying on the weekend. It is a nice mix up of colour and scene.
ReplyDeleteYou are right about the elements. It is a many layered image drawing you in. Can you tell I am playing catch up with blogging. One of those weeks.
